Red Beach is a secluded beach of black and red volcanic rock (and sand) near Akrotiri, on the southern edge of the island of Thira, Santorini
(see map).
I was there in April, so all the beaches were vacant like this (in the summer there would be a mob of people here). The sea water was still a bit too cold for me (but my German friend, Bernd, walking in the distance, enjoyed one quick plunge). I would recommend going in September to October, when the summer throng of partiers are also absent, but the seas are still warm.
